roof cladding

there are many types of roof cladding here are some of them

Metal Long Run.
Comes made out of Steel coated with Zinc and sometimes Aluminium.

Stainless Steel

And copper.

They also come in many shapes mainly corrugated, trapezoidal, trough and rib, and tray.

I have put metal roofing products on sheds, walls, modular houses and factories. you start with a roofing underlay product ....on walls you would have cavities on roofs the paper will go on top of the purlins and some times they will have wire mesh to catch the paper.  The best practise is to run underlay horizontally and laped and taped on the join by 150 mil.  The underlay should be taut. and taped around penetrations.

The best practice is to run sheets so the join is facing away from the prevailing wind. to stop wind blown moisture.

the sheets should be laid parrell to building ends and up to a line or left long and cut afterwards in situ.

pref you should have no joins from ridge to gutter, if end laps  unaviodable a 150 sealed lap must be installed.

Some Flashings may have to be installed first and sheets should be ordered to right length if applicable. Use proper shears to stop metal filings .... roof should be blown off to avoid metal filings or any dropped nails etc causing corrosion. Sheets are screwed along the purlin line at the right center as per instruction

heres a video of the cousin Scott Brown replacing some metal roofing sheets

When working on a roof you need fall protection. Or if retro working up there a harness should be worn, also a TA and safety plan should be in place.... sun screen should be worn and rubber soles shoes should be worn.  After the sheets are up and screwed down there will be a number of flashings to put in such as barge, hip, eaves and ridge.

heres a video of me putting metal cladding in Dargaville.

some other roofs I Have done is this metal roof over my sons house

we also used some plastic uv filtered system over the deck.

I also have helped a guy do a clay tile roof but have no photos they where just laid up there on ply and nailed every 5th tile.

Here is a ply roof we did at an expensive mansion in Ti Point these are the bungalows that you get to by taking a travellator down to the beach.

This is the stoage shed at the Arco yard that I replaced the iron on cos it had to be made higher

Here is some roofing I helped the roofer put up at the Best Start kensington job cos he was working by himself
